Biles was not the only American to make waves this weekend.
Compatriot Coco Gauff became the youngest player to win a WTA title in 15 years with victory.
The 15-year-old – that only qualified for the primary draw as a lucky loser after defeat in the last round of qualifying – won 6-3 1-6 6-2 and can be set to maneuver in the worlds top 75, having opened the season ranked well outside the upper 600.
Its been an awesome week, I am hoping to come back here again. Ill remember this moment for the rest of my lifetime, said Atlanta-born Gauff.
