Many different factors can affect the overall weight of the machine. This one makes it to our list because it doubles as a toy truck kids can play with at the beach or outside at the park in a sandbox. While a few extra pounds may not seem like a lot, this could be a factor to consider for some since this is not the lightest detector. The Bounty Hunter TK4 is lightweight compared to more sophisticated products out there, but it still weighs a few pounds more than the Treasure Cove TC-1018.

Compared – Significant Aspects For Metal Detector

If you get your coil over a silver coin, it will sing. I have found a ton of silver coins (which was one of my goals) with this detector.

Low frequency MD response to small sized targets is weaker, than this of high frequency ones. High frequency signals have lower penetrability and they can’t be used when searching around mineralized and alkaline soils. Nevertheless, quite often low frequency signals are distorted due to some electromagnetic interference. For example, if a small coin is somewhere in a peace of dug out ground the pinpointer will show where exactly you should look for your find. Furthermore, when the adjustment was done wrongly the searching result will be zero and, on contrast, professionally performed ground balancing allows obtaining the best result.

For the depth test we wanted to test how accurately each detector could locate coins, relics and gold that were buried under the sand from between four and six inches deep. We wanted to determine whether each detector was able to accurately locate the coins, relics and gold even when metal trash was next to them. Finally, while doing all of the above tests, we also considered the ergonomic look and feel of each metal detector.

The detectors below are mainly used to find’ Natural Gold’ the so-called Nuggets. By processed gold we mean gold jewellery and coins, for example. Because this quickly removes the motivation, because you will find almost nothing with it and the device is likely to disappear quickly on ebay.

Using the manual it will tell what type of coin your are detecting and the indicator will also tell its depth. For an inexpensive price you get a feature rich detector that can find metal objects up to 12″ deep with the ability to set the volume control of iron targets independent from non-ferrous targets. The Ace 250 runs off of 4 AA batteries so swapping out batteries in the field is easy to do also. It also has an electronic pinpoint feature with coin depth gauge to help you quickly get to your target. This is handy if you are in an area where you are wanting to find only certain types of items and don’t want to detect every type of metal in the ground.

The Bounty Hunter TK4 (great name!) is one of the best starter metal detectors on the market. If you set the audio to a high pitch for gold and bass for silver you don’t even have to look at the screen, just keep your eyes applied to the soil. Only the best entry-level metal detectors retune themselves quickly, which the Fisher F22 does with ease.

There are specialty detectors that you can purchase that will help with more in-depth searching or simpler ones for simpler items that you can find with a stroll along the coast. Are you going to be near the coast, near a property that is known for gold prospecting, or in a place where antique coins and other objects are known to be found?
